Awww Sara, you sound so sweet. I understand that you are getting older and weight will be an issue. Here is my advice:
Drink lots of water
Be active outside
Do sit-ups, crunches, push-ups and lift can goods as weights
Eat healthy snacks such as fruit and veggies
Add a salad to your diet
Maybe eat 5-7 small meals instead of 3 big meals
Add fish to your diet
Dance all the time instead of watching tv
Go for a walk for at least 30 minutes a day and put some pep in your step
Get a work out buddy because they will keep you motivated
You will be great. I hope that it all goes well for you!

Sara,
Its true that you are too young to worry about weight. But you have to feel good about yourself as well. God didn't make junk everything he created was good including you know that first don't compare yourself to what you think you should look like now days there really isn't a typical body form. Love yourself no matter what others say or think. You don't want to lose weight fast you will only gain it back faster and add more pounds with it.
Remember I know your body maybe changing so fast before your eyes. Just know you are beautiful the way you are.
But if you think you are truly overweight. First include your parents in this decision maybe it can be something you all can do together to make sure you are safe. Secondly get plenty of excercise; ride your bike, do a few excercises when you wake up in the morning. Stay away from junk foods. My daughter who is also 11 suggests that you go on www.healthykids.com

Remember first you have to love yourself

Dear Sara,
Sorry, there are no 'get thin quick' potions out there or I would have found them by now! But a healthy and quick way to lose is to cut out junk foods immediately, watch your food intake (make sure it is one serving), and get off the computer and move! Walk a mile or two a day and gradually begin to jog. Swim! Swimming is a good place to move in the water and no one knows you are working out! Plus drink water -- lots of water. It helps curb your appetite plus nourishes your body. Then when you do all this, you will begin to build muscle and lose weight. Don't worry about builking up. With the exercise you will be doing you will be toning your body. Also, cut yourself a break - your body is at the age of change so making these healthy changes now will benefit you forever.

Hope it works out!
Nancy
p.s. I was in the same boat too in 6th grade.

If you think you have a problem and your family and doctor agrees then just change some habits! Wake up earlier, help out around the house to get your blood flowing! Play outside, ride your bike, rollerblade, swim, dance etc. Don't drink pop or fruit drinks, just drink water, dont try a fad diet, just lay off of the fried food and candy! Eat lots of fruits and veggies. Dont eat after 7!

If you buy new clothes for school, get some black and dark shirts, higher heeled shoes, and tops with virticle lines! All these will make you appear taller and slimmer!

Well, if you are only 11, you should not start dieting. Most crash diets only mess up your metabolism and make it harder for you to lose weight. Doctors say that healthy weight loss is only 1-2 pounds a week, so there isn't really a "fast" way to lose a lot of fat. If you are really concerned about your weight, you should probably talk with you parents, and go see a doctor.

You could pick up a high intensity sport. I did Ocean Lifeguard Training for 3 hours in the morning and Waterpolo training for 2.5 hours in the afternoon. In 1 month lost 6 pounds and gained lots of muscle. Thats not much weight loss but you have to remember that I gained muscle mass. Constant exercise it the best way.

There is no shortcut to losing weight...it's just exercise, eat less, drink lots of water and sleep well. You will be sure to drop a few pounds by the time your school starts.

you're 11 huh? well my advice to you would be if you think you're fat dont start doing the dumb stuff like, throwing up your food and not eating anything. i am 12 and i have a fast mettabilism- but i wish i could gain pounds i am sure youre not fat but maybe youre not excersing enough and eating healthy foods. my problem is i cant gain anything! youre lucky i dont want 2 be skinny i would like to have some meat on my bones, people have called me anorexic before and its not fair youre lucky, and i hope my advice works!

Your too young to be worried about such things. You said that you think your fat and chances are your probably not. Dont let the media or anyone else put any BS ideas into your head.
