For example, would man have evolved as we know him within the totally different environment that would have existed had the dinosaurs, etc not been eliminated in a sudden catastropic event?

Too hard to speculate with a high degree of accuracy.

I'd think more about the event itself, not the dinosaurs. Because of that meteor hitting the planet, the oxygen saturation dramatically decreased, which is what led to the dinosaurs' demise. It also allowed mammals to become the dominant species, because they developed diaphragms etc. If that hadn't have happened, things would probably be extremely different than the way they are now. In fact, chances are we wouldn't exist and large creatures (such as dinosaurs and giant insects) would rule the earth.

You would have to be very careful where you stepped. Stepping into a pile of Dino Dukie would be an overwhelming experience.
I do not concur that the dinosaurs were wiped out by an asteroid.
I think they were hunted to extiction by an alien race that came to Earth for sport.

I see two possibilities. One is that dinosaurs would have competed with all mammals and most mammals would remain quite small and their habitat marginalized. The dinosaurs would then go on to develop a higher intelligence. The other is that small dinosaurs and one or more mammals would have eventually developed human-grade intelligence, and competed with one another, much as Cro-Magnon man competed with the Neanderthals.

I am not a student of Science. All what I believe is you know the trasportation becomes fast for farmers. Instead of using Oxes and camel they will use Giants for loading purpose.
Size of Zoos will increase and we will find more fun items in Circus. It wil become difficult to pet them. But sure certain pigheads will do it.

Well, we would be their main food source and there would be no such thing as our society today as it is..We'd be too busy running our butts off to escape being some Rex's dinner that we would be still hiding in the caves..Maybe the planet would be better off ...No global warming caused by man and his SUV"S....

People would be so less in nom. and they can't be able to travel on land or live on earth like we do.. they probably live under ground for their sake from the dinosaurs cuz these creatures may destroy all the buildings and houses.. so they would've build cities under ground!!

Many possibilities. A wonderful fictional novel that deals with that subject is WEST OF EDEN. I highly reccommend it.
