I have a collection of bettas and studied them for years. Actually nobody can tell when the betta is going to die. These little fish have varried personalities and react to certain situations diffrently. Betta's also find it difficult to eat same kind of food for a long time you should feed them worms one time in a month for a change but don't feed worms more than that as they will not eat anything else but the worms. They are also depressed when kept alone they usually need something to be involved in use a mirror so that your betta will flare back to it and will come out of depression and start moving and chasing around other fishes soon.

thanx, bye

If one of my bettas stops eating then that usually means they are going to die really soon within a day or two.

His color starts fading, his fins are clamped, he just sits on the bottom of the tank and doesn't swim, and stops eating.

I had two betas and they get real sluggish before they die, and they don't eat much.
