I'm not sure how much you are willing to spend but Sharper Image has this great product called Mouse Mover™ Ultrasonic Rodent Deterrent. I've read reviews on it and its successfully gotten rid of peoples' rat problems.

Try it out if it doesn't work out you can always return it. I'm pretty sure they have a 30 or 60 day return policy so that should be enough time to see if it works.

Check out the link:

Good Luck. Hope this helps.

Rats eat the insulation on the wires, and in the process, cut the wires. They build nests on the vents and air cleaner housing and anywhere else they can find. They destroy the interior and leave droppings everywhere. They spread disease and can bite. The only way to get rid of them is to kill them. You can use a regular rat poison, or antifreeze. If you are dead set against killing them you can get a humane trap that traps them but doesn't kill them and you can turn them loose somewhere else, but you should choose somewhere far away from people or near someone you don't like, because they will do they same thing over and over again.

you would be able to nicely be waiting to tell if its gas or electric powered. whilst the engine stops, is it on the spot or does it start to splutter and jerk the vehicle? If the engine in simple terms stops lifeless, then its likely electric powered, while if it slowly splutters and dies, then its likely interior the gas device. once you look on the engine whilst it fairly is working, does it run easily or does it rock from side to side? that would represent that a number of the cylinders weren't getting the nicely suited gas or a loss of spark or a loss of air. Do you have any buddies who ought to look at it for you? sturdy success.
