i found what seems to be called a "Diaprepes Root Weevil" crawling around in my room and after researching, noticed that they are not typical of canada (where i'm at) butthe carribean. i went to cuba a couple of weeks ago and think that it might of slipped into my luggage or something, and made it's way here. should i be worried about finding more or was the little fella' a stray?

I'm from the USA and we certainly don't want that beetle down here. Contact someone in your Government agricultural department. Keep the beetle as evidence. Let them tell you what to do. From what I know they can cause alot of damage to citrus and other agricultural products. Good luck and do the right thing...

I wouldn't worry unless i found more then one. After all there are hundreds crawling around behind the walls of our homes at all times.
No home is without bugs, but the ones that our sprayed, keeps them from being seen.
Just think of all the ones that crawl on the vegi's you eat, and end up in the cans at the factory.

Call an exterminator for your answers. I was told once by an exterminator that a bug can be carried on your shoe to your home and about a zillion bugs can come from that one bug. I am not familiar with that type of bug so it is best to check with exterminator until you know your facts. Good luck!

I would definitely be worried about a stray bug. One day i woke up with a spider in my bed and i couldn't find it so i slept on the couch for a month. I also had a scorpion in my house once and i had a spider inside my pants! so i would be scared.

From looking at some of the other answer,s You may have opened a large can of worms! Look around see if you have one of those large canadian bugs that will eat them. If so problem solved.

Kill it and spray your room right away, then have a professional exterminator spray your whole house. Also spray anything (luggage, souvenirs) that came back with you, you never know. And wash all your clothes that you took. :)

There probably isn't more than one and if that is the case they won't multiply. The climate is probably too cold for it anyway. If you didn't kill it, it should die out on its own.
