Is the University saying it's ok to be mediocre and lose 3 or 4 games a year, plus their sorry bowl game every year anymore. Oh, and let's not forget, lose to your rival 4 out of the last 5 years since Tressel took over? What gives, will this year finally be the year, this program is becoming below average of late. If I were a kid being recruited I wouldn't want to play for this blue hair. Get your four losses (or more) this year and give Carr the pink slip already!

Because he won half of a national championship. If he has another terrible season and loses to Ohio State AGAIN he might not have a job for much longer...

Don't succumb to the disease of recency which constantly asks, "what have you done for me lately?" By that logic, JoePa should have been cut loose a few years back. College football (and actually, all things) are cyclical. Sometimes you're up, sometimes you're down. And when you are up, people like to steal your offensive coordinators and assitant coaches, it's just the way the game works. Besides, he won a national championship back in 1997, which certainly doesn't hurt. Nor does the fact that Michigan was the only team to beat Penn St. last year. Michigan's a little down, but I'm sure they'll bounce back within a few years. They're a good program, so it's to be expected. So ease up on Lloyd, even if he did rat out the one-eyed ref. Just remember, everybody can't win all the time, or else who would they beat?

Lastly, I have a rather pronounced disdain for Michigan, so you know I'm not lying.

You guys pretend thats its easy to have a perfect season. Get in touch with a little reality...it isn't easy to win every game. Of course you have your Auburns who don't think it's important to send there athletes to class. Or, you have your Ohio States who send there players to Home Ec over the summer along with two tutors to help them pass. Or you have Oklahome who send their players to Football Class taught by the head coach and everyone gets an A!

You see...its very difficult to have a perfect season when you treat your players as what they are...STUDENT ATHLETES. And thats what Michigan does. Not only do they graduate, they're on a track to graduate before their college football career is over!

Now, only 250 guys will be drafted into the NFL. Michigan has 125 guys on the team. 2 or 3 of those guys might get drafted. What's more important here? A college education should be your answer.

Lloyd Carr would be doing these kids a dis-service if he put football ahead of their education. Coaches like Tressle doesn't seem to have a problem with that. Reality is...I want to keep my job I gotta win games...so screw the kids!

Thats the reality of the situation. You can complain all you want. As a parent I would hope my son played for a Lloyd Carr and not a Jim Tressle!
