Without hurting their feelings.

Sometimes saying "I want some time by myself" sounds like you're depressed.

You can tell them in a way that they will understand. Let them know you need some space because you need to unwind, destress, just veg, anything that you are feeling. Don't blame them, put it on yourself..... something you need to do..... I tell my family that I just need to unwind and not listen to any voices, including my own. They catch on pretty quick.... But sorry to say, sometimes not quick enough. : )

Just say, that you've been spending tons of time with eachother (you and your friends), and it's great...but everyone once in awhile, you just need a little while to be on your own...to kinda think things over about whatever may be happening, to just breathe, and relax on your own. If you put it politely like that, you shouldn't have a problem. I've done this before...I'm one of those people who needs my alone time too, so I really do know how you feel and what you're going through. However, if they don't understand you and get mad when you tell them like that (politely and to the point) - then they're probably not too worth it. But don't worry, it'll work out. Just tell them how you're feeling and what you need - they'll be there for you that's what real friends are for. Take Care!

All of us need time alone every so often. Unless you're suicidal, there's nothing wrong with this. Tell your friends honestly & politely that you simply feel a need to be by yourself for awhile, barring some emergency. You should probably give them a definite time frame for this.True friends will respect your wishes. Be prepared to show them the same consideration when they ask for alone time.

YOu could tell them you're not feeling well and would like to sit at home by yourself for a few days. It's hard to tell your friends you just want to be alone, especially if they're needy. But a little white lie won't hurt anyone.

A lot of us go through this. There is no easy way to tell your friends you need some time to yourself. They instantly start assuming you have some kind of dire problem, and they think "well, if I'm such a good friend, why won't he/she let me help?" But you just have to ignore all that and do what you gotta do. True friends will understand.

Just tell them honestly and lovingly, that you need some time alone, you cant be the best you without time alone and that is the most important thing. If your friends do not understand this , they are not very good friends. take care of yourself. good luck!

Just tell them that and they will understand. Remember, real friends don't leave, they stay away but always will be there for you when you will need them.
We all need time for ourselves, so they too. One day they will ask for some space and time.
You get what you give .

Just tell them that you have things to do and will be busy. If they call, let the machine get it. If that doesn't work, just say you aren't feeling well and need to take it easy.

"I need time by myself. . .I'll call you later"

What's the deal? do you think we all must be responsible for other peoples' feelings, before our own? Nothing wrong or selfish or 'bad' about wanting to be alone. . .
