I'm looking for lesser known artists form the seventies on up; I have alot by Jim Croce, Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver, Simon & Garfunkle, and Tennessee Ernie Ford. Any suggestions? (romantic songs are a plus, but please, not just those)

Not all of these fall into the folk genre, but if you like folk music, you will probably like these bands as well...

Elliot Smith is really good-try the Good Will Hunting soundtrack

Rocky Votolato -he is similar to Elliot Smith, great for days when you want to unwind or on a road trip.

Damien Rice will always be a favorite of mine.

Counting Crows double cd-VH1 storytellers and MTV's the 10 spot

Some others to consider:
Bright Eyes
Ryan Adams
Kings of Convience
James Blunt
Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds (2 disc set)
Jeff Buckley

Folk track manner exceptional matters far and wide the sector. In the UK, in which I'm from, it manner conventional acoustic track. My favourite people band is Mumford & Sons, and my favorite people singer is Ben Howard. I relatively could not prefer among those 2 songs. :) Keep Your Head Up - Ben Howard I Gave You All - Mumford & Sons
