Shadow of the Giant by Orson Scott Card. It is his latest installment (I believe book 8) in the Ender's Game/Ender's Shadow series.

I am currently reading two books: Edgar Allan Poe: Complete Works and Poems; and The Illustrated Encyclopedia of the Kings and Queens of Britain. They are both excellent books.
As far as my favorite author goes, I'm not sure that I have just one. I love JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, JK Rowling, Louisa May Alcott, and some other random books by authors I can't think of.

My favorite contemporary author is Anne Rice- I've read nearly everything.
Right now I'm reading Jack the Ripper and the I ching
I just finished reading Slaughterfouse 5 again
My all time favorite books are The Once and Future King by TH White , Siddartha by Herman Hesse, and Mediatations by Thomas Moore.
My husband loves Le Morte D'Arthur

I'm getting ready to start Mary Higgins Clark's Two Little Girls in Blue. I'm also reading Philip and Elizabeth: Portrait of a Royal Marriage, and The Complete Father Brown.

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks is a very good book and I am reading it right now.
Nicholas Sparks is definitely making his debut in my favorite authors.

currently reading Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, excellent book, very funny and poignant and moving.
i have soo many favorite authors but my favorite author of the moment is Neil Gaiman =)

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. Really nice.

That would be the romance novel "Smitten" by one of my fav authors Janet Evanovich.
