awwwww I have a yellow belly too! His name is Squirt and he's my baby! If he is chirping, he probably has an upper respiretory infection. You need to take him to the vet as soon as you can to give him the best chance of survival. Tell the turtle hi for me!

Turtles make some interesting noises, but many are not good signs.
WHEN does it chirp?
- When breathing? BAD SIGN- may be a respiratory infection.
- When near another turtle? MEDIUM BAD SIGN- suggests territoriality (or mating). May indicate too small an enclosure.
- Just when pulling its head in? No big deal, but may indicate a tad overweight or an early respiratory ailment.
- No real pattern? This has been observed, but not often. Many feel it is a sign of high stress.

I'm not sure what is his problem. Maybe he got a blocked nose? If u are worried bring him to see vet in your country, the vet will give u the answer.
Or check out this web site, it listed down some common diseased, but none is similar to yours:

I used to raise red-eared sliders, sometimes when they get scared, they will let out a little noise.
