no. Listen the Lord made animals for us to eat. Its just human nature. But yes i am against cruelty to animals aswell but I simply dont like when animals are beat or neglected. If an anmial is bred to be ate then it serves its purpose. Its purpose is not to be beaten.

Almost all food animals live short painful lives where they never have enough space, they are routinely put through what would be seen as animal abuse if it were done to a dog and then they die. They would not be raised or killed if no one ate meat, so you are directly responsible for their deaths. It's not hard to be a vegetarian and it will make you feel so good that you are not contributing to the suffering of animals. If you are not ready to make this step, you can start by eating a few meals every week without meat and buying only pasture raised beef and free range chickens, they still suffer, but not as much. Really, anything you do helps.

Most slaughter animals in the US are raised in an inhumane manner. I try to look for organic meats when I buy. There are producers out there who raise their animals in a humane way.
I don't eat a lot of meat and I do like it in stir fries and soups for flavoring. I don't think I can go the whole way and not eat meat at all.
There have always been carnivores on earth throughout evolutionary history. I hate to equate myself with Tyrannosaurus Rex and I guess that's just the way I am.

Yes, you are contradicting yourself.
I have always been against cruelty to animals too, yet never thought twice about eating meat. My family then bought an old chicken farm to turn the buildings into storage. The chickens were all sold off before we moved into the house on the property, but before that I saw first hand how horrible it was- and it wasn't even as large as your usual factory farm!
Cramped cages, birds hurting themselves and eachther, feces EVERYWHERE is was disgusting. I decided then that I never want anything to do with that.
I have been vegetarian for over 7 months now and am slowly weaning myself almost to being a vegan (I just love cheese too damn much).
Lots of people will use the "it's natural to eat meat" excuse, but I ask this- Is it natural for animals to be locked in cages in the first place? What about in cages too small for them to move? Were they intended to live in their own filth? What about eat food that likely contains their family- or how about food that makes them grow too large, too fast, that their legs buckle beneath them?
That's the reality of today's food industry. I'm not exactly against eating meat, but until it is done properly, I refuse to be a part of it. Besides, there are many alternatives now for humans and they truly are just as good. As long as you balance and plan it properly, a vegetarian diet can be very good for you.

Only if you eat them alive. They have laws to make sure meat animals aren't streesed or mistreated before their deaths. If they were kept alive they would have a much higher chance of suffering, this way they eat what they want go for a few trailer rides and go young and healthy. So don't feel too bad and take a stand next time you see a true abuse case.

I don't think so. If the animal is slaughtered humanely (sounds like a contradiction in terms, I know) and is not wasted, then it is okay.
I firmly believe that humans are meant to be omnivores and should eat meat and vegetables. I also believe we should take care of other animals that we use as pets or beasts of burden and treat them well. I am against breeding farms for animals that are run by people who don't know what they are doing, cruelty to animals, etc.

we grow up eating animals and never really thinking about why we do or if it's ok. we call them by different names when we eat them - such as pork or beef so we dont think about it as much. ideally if you are against cruelty to animals u would be vegetarian. but everyone has their boundaries. many people eat cows but would never think of eating a cat. everyone has a line they draw somewhere. maybe u could cut back the meat u eat or stop eating pork or beef. every little bit helps. life is full of contradictions - people are for the death penalty but against abortion. do what u feel is right in your heart.

No. You are doing what you can. It can be very hard to give up what you enjoy. If you feel bad about it, perhaps you can alter your eating habits, like limiting the amount of meat you eat or buying food that came from free ranged chickens or something.
If you are considering giving up meat, I suggest taking it slow. I gave up meat over the time of a month. Give yourself a limit each week until you've reached the goal you wanted.

Yes. Modern farming methods are extremely cruel to animals. Overcrowding, infections, inhumane treatment by animal handlers, etc. are all very common.
To minimize the cruelty, you can choose only organic foods, which tend to allow animals to be raised in a more natural way. Or go vegetarian, or vegan. Good luck!

it's possible to raise animals for food without being abusive. If more people actually supported doing that the industry would change. Talking about it and spending $$ for it is two different things...our food supply is in too few mega corporations hands.
