An email will go to their email inbox. I've had someone email me once through the Answers and it came to my email inbox as a message from Yahoo Answers. They don't give you the senders email address though. And they don't get yours. It's all through Yahoo.

Yes, we get an e-mail that indicates that "nickname" has a message for us. We read your message. If we want to respond, a link is provided. We do not see "nickname's" address.

If they have set up their account to have Yahoo Mail as their default, it will go there. But it doesn't have to do so.
