QQ is only popular in China and anyone who is Chinese from China knows it and uses it. None of the foreigner know what is QQ. ICQ is wolrd wide, so should be popluar though.
Don't put any hope in chatting with a foreigner in QQ, since they don't know it. It is a Chinses chatting software also!

exactly what is QQ never heard of it. so i guess you may like to consider using skype from www.skype.com

they are free messenger services however i think services like aol AIM is a charged service and so is the service from google however i may be wrong on the charged basis for the last two. i'm sure i will be corrected on that by someone.
but the best to use to start with would be to use skype and look for people in skype me mode, then you text message before making a pc to pc voice call (common etiquite)(calling before texting is seen as rude and will result in you being told to go away in most cases).

If u have a, boost mobile or a sprint cell phone its a dating service on there. I am on there all the time and it is a grat way to meet people. and it only 50 cents for 24 hours.
