It means to do as you say you would do, to be consistent with your words and actions. Another cliche that means the same thing is: practice what you preach. It's the oppsite of being a hypocrite.

The ball park figure is one mile. Average distance from home to a local light rail or bus station when one has no automobile or other vehicle to travel by. Like within walking distance from the hotel, from home, from the theater and that could mean anything from a few blocks to a few miles depending on the specificity of the person asking. When I say walking distance I mean a quick stroll about 7 blocks. If it is say, a mile or further it then becomes too far to walk within a reasonable length of time in a city on a main street in the 21st Century. But walking distance in Italy is as far as you can walk before you can't walk any longer. HE HE.

I'm not sure about walk the talk....but you may mean
"talk the talk" and "walk the walk"? The first means you can say it...the latter is the real test...can you do it?
(ie: yeah, he can talk the talk, but can he walk the walk?)

"Walk the talk" means to say something and actually follow through with it. Like if someone says they're gonna hit you they actually do it not just say they're gonna

Walk the talk.......same as actions speak louder than words. If you say something then action should follow showing that talk. lead by example. words are just empty noises unless there is action to back it up.
