There are a lot of determining factors as to what pins would be left standing in throwing a shot like that. Ball speed, rotation, even the weight of the pins. (There are two legal weights.) It is to say that more than likely you would leave a split.

Ideally, to throw a 'perfect' strike, one must hit 'The Pocket'. This pin combination is the 1-3 for right handers and the 1-2 for left handers. Too high or too low from that 'pocket' is going to leave you with pins standing.

A straight headpin shot would likely leave a 7-10 split, or maybe a 4-7-10 or 6-7-10. That's why good bowlers learn to curve the ball.

I like to observe spin bowling. A well spin bowler mesmerize me like Shane Warne, Anil Kumble, Muralidharan. But this can be a pity that at gift there is not any global elegance spinner except for Muralidharan. In India Amit Mishra has abilities to come to be an international elegance. Piyush Chawla could also be a well prospect, however isn't being given adequate possibilities to groom.

You could end up with the outside pins still there, causing a split. That is why good bowlers bowl in the pocket with a hook.
