Oh heck yeah!
If it's on-going (chronic) then no- there is probably something going on unresolved below the surface. Nothing wrong with that either though. I meanone doesn't have to KNOW for it to be ok or not ok. If you're feeling down then maybe you're just feeling down.
The possibilities are endless.
However I'd have to say, the REAL question is, is the person who is feeling down OK with it or do they want a change? Now how much of a change? If they want a change but don't want to do things that work, maybe this "down-ness" is actually a critical part and indicator of something that needs to be respected and felt and looked at.
Is it emotional?
Energetic?
Specific in times when it happens?
General (undefined)?
Frequency and how the person feels about it would be where I'd start with- especially with myself.
Sometimes finding a good listener, who really will help us ask the hard questions is all we need....Or a good friend to get us into a change of environment and bust us out of a rut.
but is sure is possible- might even just be a slight hormonal or chemical -even vitamins (diet) deficiency!!!

Sure - it's possible to "feel down" without a reason - no outside or environmental factor affecting mood. For some people it lasts for days, weeks, months or years. Then it's depression or dysthymia - which is a low grade depression.
That being said, many of not most people, feel "down" at some time or another for no apparent reason.

There's always a reason. If your not feeling poorly about yourself then there are millions of souls out there to feel down about.I can be having a great week and then I'll think of someone who needs help and I'll feel bad FOR them.I hate the injustices in our world and I know that I have limits to how much I can help personally but I'd like to save the world and my personal limits get me down sometimes.I want the world to be happy.Never say I wish for the impossible.

Yes, it is. sometimes our bodies just feel a little sad...if it lasts more than a few days, there is something that needs to be checked out by a dr. But to feel down once in a while is ok...it helps us appreciate being happy :) .

Wikipedia says, "No specific cause for depression has been identified, but a number of factors are believed to be involved," and proceeds to list quite a few of those factors.

yes depression is not really understood fully. mostly its a minor brain chemistry "hiccup". i would see your doctor if it lasts longer than 7 days and let them know your feeling blue for no reason. and most importantly get around people that care if you can it will help a little.

Without any reason at all ..I wouldn't think so...there's always something deep inside that makes us feel down ..we may not want to see it admit it or we deny it
