I have this question for you wives:) What exactly does your husband do to help you around the house? Is he really helpful, or does he do the housework when you're at work? Just curious about it, my husband will wash dishes maybe twice a year, lol, he cuts the grass but that's about it. He always asks for me to tell him if I need help, but I feel funny asking, as if I'm not capable or something. Thanks!

Love this question... I feel like why should I have to ask if I need help when he lives in the house he knows what needs to be done he should just do it...But they don't think that way. Mine he goes to work and makes sure the bills are paid. I am fortunate enough to stay at home. I care take of the house our kids and him. Sometimes I feel like a slave because he just does those 2 things I have to ask him to take our 4 month old just so I can get a least 30 min nap. I guess it goes back to the olden days where the men worked and the women were these faithful obedient housewives. So they just think that working and paying the bills and the little odd and ends as far as garbage and grass cutting is all they need to do.
I love this answer so much I wonder what the men would say to this question.

I guess he does. He does the laundry (I fold and put away). He puts out the trash ( I gather it all up) He mows grass about 40/60 (me doing it more). He washes dishes like 5 xs a yr and cooks dinner maybe once a month. He never shovels snow ( I do it). I feel it should be a little more even, but why complain? At least he does some things right?

If I don't tell my husband to do it, it won't get done. He comes home throws his clothes on the floor and hop in the bed. And that's where he will stay until it's time for him to go to work. The only times he'll get up and do something is if I throw a fit. That's when he will cook, clean, and do the laundry. But other than that, he's laying on his a**.

My husband cuts the grass pull up the weeds and keep the gutters clean. He works hard and pays all the bills and takes good care of me in the bedroom. So no I don't need any help around the house.

My husband and I share the chores/responsibilities evenly. When the house needs to be cleaned we clean it together, we wash dishes together, do laundry together, grocery shop together, cook together etc. It's a way for us to spend time together and be productive. He's actually been deployed to Iraq since January, so I've been doing everything myself, but he is coming home in 5 days!!!

My ex would wash the dishes about once every two weeks. Sometimes he would make phone calls since I can't get to a phone while I am at work. Most of the time he took up space and wasted good oxygen.
