Unless you're in a position to switch jobs or companies, you'll have to swallow your pride and play his game. Find out what makes his favorites his favorites and try to fake your way into becoming one.

Tell him he's a jackass. Document his favoritism and discrimination, mood swings, et cetera, and go to Human Resources with the evidence.

In my opinion, quit. I had a job with a boss like that, and I was unhappy everyday. I tried everything to make things better to no avail. I finally got another job lined up, and I quit. I have never been happier. Good luck to you.

You could always try oral sex. You'd become his favorite. He'd be in a good mood, and wouldn't pick on you anymore.

Lots of managers are managers that should NOT be.......Believe me, I have had MANY supervisors the same way........The best way to deal with them is to kill them with kindness (always smile, make them speak to you if they don't by saying hello, etc)......
