You need a budget, my friend. If you can save 20% of what you earn and invest it in a mutual fund, you'll be surprised how much money you'll have before you're forty... odds are you will have six figures to a million dollars. Spend the 80% however you want... it's the 20% that's crucial for your long-term success. If you're old enough to work, you're old enough to begin investing for your future.
