That's the irony of spongebob... There are so many hidden meanings that are subtly crafted into the scenery and the storyline...
You really have to open up your mind and let the experience envelope your inner being.
In time, you will get the zen of spongebob... in time

Well at least you know about spongebob? My daughter is going to be twelve, and I just found out a few months ago that he actually lived in the water, and I was not really sure who he was.
I fine the whole spongebob thing to be overrated. I grew up watching The smurfs, and the Flintstones. At least they live on the ground.
Oh ya and tell me how there can be a restraint under water, you would think the buns would get soggy... and why you bother putting on clean clothes for work, when they are already wet. And how do they manage to stay in their bed at night with out floating.
I get you point.. and your point is well taken.
The reason I responded to your question is because earlier today my daughter came in my office while I was working and she taped a spongebob toy to the top of my computer. So every time I look up at the screen I see this dam yellow box with legs and feet.
I will more then likely have spongbob nightmares....

Sponge Bob lives in the sea. When filling buckets and bathtubs, obviously he is filling them with fresh (no salt) water. Fresh water is more dense than salt water. This is why you can see them fill up!
...yellow, absorbant and porous is he!

Here's another one, or as we at Zoxx Labs refer to it, the First Law of Cartoon Physics:
Gravity only kicks in when you look down.
Check any episode of the Road Runner Show for numerous examples of this phenomenon.

LoL. Yeah, I don't know. I guess kids don't think about things like that while watching it. I'd also wonder how the grill at the Krusty Krab heats things up when it is submerged in water.

It is part of the adult humor of the show. I think they throw water scenes in there just to see if anyone notices it......obviously someone besides me did! LOL!
