Nails need oil to grow without splitting. A good lotion after you have had your nails in water should work. Load up on it at night too. Try massaging some baby oil into your nails before bed.
Nail hardner is good, but your nails need moisture.

Go to Family Dollar or your local cosmetic store and ask for nutri-nail. The kind that i use is a greenish color, but they have different color ones with different ingredients to help your nails grow. The color doesn't matter though because it doesn't show up. Take all your other nail polish off and put the nutri-nail on and underneath your nail and then put two coats of hard as nails clear polish over it to harden your nails.
