You obviously have a problem there, I suggest you take the computer and hide it from him. There are ways to go back and read things, but the issue isn't that, the issue is your husband sounds like he's doing something wrong and you need to lay down some law. Let him know you won't tolerate any garbage. Don't give the computer back until you install some sort of filters and a way for you to read what he's doing. I smell a big rat!

Wow, large case of mistrust here it seems. Sorry to tell you this, but you cant. There is no program that will allow you to keep him from removing old files. I mean you can get key loggers and such. But i find it trivial that when you say husband you cant seemingly just ask him.. hey what are you doing in there. I mean if your that hard up on your man being on the computer maybe you should talk to him. I swear I found out someone was looking into my Internet tracks and what not that would piss me off. Quit trying to be sneaky. You wanna ruin your marriage keep not being able to talk to your supposed husband, and if your worried he is looking or might be looking at porn. Just deal with it. We all look at porn, I mean its human nature its the beast within.. So quit being a lil sneak.. grow up.. Jesus.. your married.. act like it.
how would u like him reading into your files.

I would talk to him. This is not a technological question, this is a marriage question. If you do not trust him, you should discuss your concerns with him and work out whatever underlying trust problems you have.

The technological answer to your question is that you can't. Whatever a user has access to write, can be deleted. Your only other option is to install a keylogger, the use of which against another person, even on your own system, may be considered a felony (wiretapping).

I would consider the first part of my answer before the second.

There are programs out there that will copy everything he does while logged on but they are expensive and take up a lot of hard drive space. If your just looking to see what porn hes surfing get a keylogger from download.com. Most are free and then you can see what internet sites hes visiting.

Whoa.

Sounds like you two have some issues.

If you don't trust him enough to let him surf the net, there's a problem. If he doesn't trust you enough to leave his surfing history on the computer, there's another problem.

I'd say you two need to sit down for a face to face chat to clear the air.

if he is erasing the places where he's been...chances are they are places he doesn't want you to know he visits. Does he stay up late at night? does he spend long hours in front of the computer....are you open to the fact that porn can be an addiction. I suggest that you talk to him about installing a filter
(a filter where you hold the password)

Buy some software at bestbuy to where you can track where he has been without him knowing. OR put the computer in a place where there is constant HIGH traffic and there no way he could have any privacy.

Buy this program and install it on the computer. Then it won't matter if he deletes everything. You will get a report of everything he typed into the computer.

You can't. Why do you have to see what he is doing anyway? He is a grown man and you should be able to just ask him.
