Oooh... tough pick, I guess for versatility & range, Charlize Theron? I also think Cate Blanchett, though underrated & overshadowed by her fellow Aussie mate Nicole Kidman, is amazing for her work in The Aviator, Elizabeth, The Gift & The Talented Mr. Ripley.
