they are all as important as each other. All of them are great instruments, but the thing is all the instruments compliment each other as much as the next, so they are all important!

The bass clarinet. Only if the person is good at it. It has such a beautiful sound.
English Horn is great, too. There aren't many high school English Horn players around, especially with talent.
French Horns are awesome.
Saxophones can die.
Baritones are useless, that's what the trombone is there for.
Flutes are good, if they're in tune.
Trumpets are okay, but the players get kind of cocky.
Tubas are a good bass voice, but drown out the bass clarinet!!
Bassoons and oboes are great sounding instruments.
I still vote for bass clarinet.

Well, even though my daughter played the trumpet in her high school band, I definately would say that it just isn't right if there's no drums! That beat is all-important.

Definitely the drums, because they provide the rhythym, and without the rhythym nothing would have a beat. The drums work with the other instruments and holds the music together.

The tuba is the foundation of a great sounding band and gives the band a really full sound.

saxophone (that's what I played)....but seriously if you are talking marching band, probably the drums because they keep the whole band together.....if you're talking stage bands, then probably the trumpets, because they get most of the main important parts, and it is what drives the whole song.

definitely the percussion. i think drums are the fundamental element of all music, they're what get you moving and accentuate the intensity of the melodic instruments. all instruments are important, though. xD

Well, i play guitar in my school band. But if you don't have one, than i suggest sax. It takes the lead in most band tunes.

Percussion, is the heartbeat of the entire band, whether it's stage, or marching, or concert band.

I am saying the Flutes and Trumpets because they always have the melody and without them u would not have the music u play!
