This is what I did and it worked SO good:
7 am feed and burp and change diaper
10 am repeat
1 pm repeat
4 pm repeat
7 pm repeat
put to bed at 8 pm
10 pm "dream feed" pick baby up if sleeping and feed without waking up, then lay back down.
If your baby is normal weight you dont have to worry about waking it up during the night. Let it sleep as long as it wants and feed when it wakes up to eat and put back to bed. Wake baby up at 7 am no matter what so you dont get out of the routine. eventually it will sleep longer periouds at night if you dont wake it up.

I wouldn't even attempt it right now. Just nurse her on demand and remember that she's the boss right now (even though it's not the greatest thing to hear right now). She'll work out her schedule soon, just remember to sleep when she sleeps (as hard as it is to ignore the dishes etc.) and you will make it through this time. I have a 10 week old, and 8 weeks ago I would have sworn that I would never sleep again, now she's sleeping from 10ish to about 4AM every night. I didn't do anythin other than turning the lights down and having a lot of "calm time" after about 9 to encourage her sleeping.

She's much too young to expect this of her. She'll need to feed every 2-3 hours. If you're feeding formula, you may get a 4 hour stretch... but don't count on it. If you're nursing, it's not likely to go longer than 3 hours between feedings. Breast milk digests much faster, so the baby will eat frequently. You are to feed on demand which means when the baby is hungry, she'll need to be fed. You need to give her a few more weeks before expecting a longer stretch during the night.

2 weeks is way too young to schedule.

The best thing to do is to nurse her on demand. That will get your supply up and help her be satisfied at night. I think the first growth spurt is right about now. It might seem like she's eating more than usual.

Ride it out. Eventually, they fall into their own pattern. My oldest was 8 weeks when she started sleeping for long stretches. My youngest was 6 months.

She's too young to be on schedule like that.but if you want her to sleep more at night try playing with her throughout the day, then put her to bed later at night, but she'll still probably wake up at least 1x a night.and if you try it my way now she could be sleepin all through the night by the time she's 3 months. We did my littler brother that way and he slept from 10:30-11:00pm until my little sisters woke im up getting ready for school at 6:30-7:30

The very best schedule for a baby (of any age) is to eat when she's hungry and sleep when she's tired. Many babies need help with both of these--just like she can't feed herself, she may not be able to get herself to sleep.

Wouldn't we all with newborns. The appropriate schedule for a newborn is as follows:

Whenever she makes you get up, find out what's wrong, and fix it for her, so she can go back to being a happy baby. This is a little new to her, the whole 'outside the womb' thing. Two weeks is nowhere near enough time to adjust to the outside world.

Although it is very tiresome the best thing to do is wake up every 3-4 hours for about 20min or until the child goes back to sleep. Or at least that was how it was with my son when I was breastfeeding. Sleep for yourself whenever you can. Babies at that age tend to sleep alot.

At 2 weeks there really isn't a schedual but their own. she will start sleeping throught the night between 6-8 weeks and then if you are lucky she might put herself on a schedual.

But i would start a "schedual" with her cause it sould have advirse reactions.

I tried with my daughter at that age and she quit sleeping at night.

before retiring for your evening bath baby with johnsons baby bed time bath warm babies formula slightly more than usual . feed and burp as usual and wrap her in a warm snuggly receiving blanket or shaw rock or hold baby till fast asleep, gently lay baby on side and cover with a usual baby blanket or crib comforter. the warmer the newborn the better and longer she or he will sleep. ( add 1 ounce extra of formula to last feeding of the night, optional of course.)
