the Canadians have there own type of government, they are Canadians. and the Mexicans have there own type of government, they are Mexicans. the united states has its own type of government and we who are born here or immigrated legally here or who were native to the land like the Indians are a part of this great idea the blacks were dragged here by a chain around there necks i would also hope they feel welcome here. and certainly to all of those millions who immigrated legally thru the last two hundred plus years are a part, and to the rest who have had the door slammed in their faces by illegal immigration i hope again someday the legal gates are opened to you again, thanks.

I don't think we can say anyone is a true American as the white man had children with many slaves and other cultures . If you think about it , I don't even think we can find out where we came from due to the fact of adoptions over the centuries and etc. My in-laws actually changed their family tree to make it look like they were of English , Belgium royalty ! Me, I really don't even care to go back and find out for fear of digging up something like a horrible serial killer in the family. My Grandma had 13 children and my Mother told me she liked men and 3 children were not Grandpas. Oh well, they are all dead now and I know I am going to live to have fun before I die and not worry about image cause I know what I like and love my family now! Period .

Define true American, my people came here from England many generations ago. But I was born here, so I would guess I am a true American, but really even the native Americans came here from Asia, even though they were the first.

No. All Americans are only psuedo-American now.
There was an act of congress. Bush thought of vetoing it but he was kind of coked out at the time and hadn't yet figured out how to use the whole veto thing.

I still love my Mom. She makes a killer Apple Pie. Opportunity is still there every morning when I wake up. Life IS what we make of it.
So I guess that I am.
