It all depends on the person. I started my period when I was 14, almost 15. My little sister started before me! Everything ended up being OK in the end. (My boobs ended up being bigger than hers!) Just be patient, you actually don't need to worry until you are 18. Then you need to go to a doctor. If you still don't feel right, then go to the gynecologist and get checked out. But I wouldn't recommend that until you are older, it's REALLY uncomfortable. Good luck! Being a teenager is never easy!

Not having had your period at 13 is nothing to worry over. My guess is that you'll get it in the next couple of years. Here's one important thing to look out for: ask your mom and grandma' how old they were before they got theirs, and that should be more or less the answer to when you should be getting your first period. All females are different and mature differently. There's no need to worry at thsi point. Now, if you're 17 an dolder and still haven't had your first period, theny ou should be concerned and see a doctor. But in your case, you should be fine.

Heredity may play a part on the timing of when you start, and when you end.
Also if you are too thin or exercise too much that "may" be what is stalling the onset, but, don't worry about it for a while yet, relax and it will happen....when it starts it probably will surprise you so be prepared....and, later on (like most females) you will probably wish it would go away.

Consider yourself lucky. It's not a big deal some girls dont get it until 16 or later. It is not the defining item of puberty it is just one thing that occurs .

Feel lucky. Just wait it shouldn't be that huge of a deal unless you want to get pregnant RIGHT away. It's not as glamorous and wonderful as you probably think. Also if you are active in sports it might not come till you are 18.

lucky!!!!! i hate periods cuz of feminine odor and all that good stuff like cramps and bloating but hey i am lucky too cause i honestly don 't get any of that stuff but still consider your self lucky because i don't wanna make u worry but it is a pain.i am only twelve and i can't stand it.

Don't worry about it. I have friends who started at 14.
