Can you explain why Kate Winslet never won an Oscar?
She was nominated for "Eternal sunshine of the spottless mind", "Titanic, "Sence and sensibility" and "Iris" (I haven't seen this one!), but she should've won.
And it's a shame she never got nominated for "Heavenly creatures". She was simply awesome in that movie.
I think that Academy is making a big mistake, don't you?

She peaked too early in this market. Titanic was her best shot. She needs another huge role.

They should remake Pygmallion with her in the role of Eliza opposite Colin Firth as the professor. It would sell tickets.

No, not at all. They haven't given her one because she's simply slept her way up. She's not all that "mesmerizing" or talented, she's simply a good lay. That's why she's taken good rolls from more talented actresses.
