I honestly think that Axel won't return. He didn't exactly die, but you can just tell that he probably isn't going to come back. However, this all depends on what the next game will focus on. If it's going to be mainly on the Heartless like Hingdom Hearts, then we probably won't see Axel again. However, I think the next game might make room for us to hear about things that tie into the Organization. It would be cool if we did see Axel again, considering his role in Kingdom Hearts 2. He isn't my favorite character, but by far my most favorite Organization member. Plus, he isn't exactly bad, as he shows us a more friendly side in Kingdom Hearts 2. He also has some sweet moves and fighting skills, as we saw in the early battle between Roxas and Axel. I do hope we hear from him again. Also Edward said that Kingdom Hearts 3 would be the way out, when in the ending they get out and return to Destiny Islands. The plot could be about anything.

lol i dont know. i dont think he will because he was a nobody that got demolished when he protected sora/roxas, i forgot. personally, i dont think he played that big of a part anyway, just that he was roxas' best friend. they couldnt used anyone for that.

the ending for kh2 was weird also, it seems that riku and sora are stuck in the shadows. hopefully kh3 is the journey out of it.

Well you bring up a good point. Becuase after his explosive attack you see no remains at all..
