The MVP is not the best player in the NBA! Its for the player whose the most valuable to his team. The suns had the best record last year in 2005 when Steve Nash won the MVP the first time, then they lose ALL STAR CENTER Amare stodemire, Jackson, and Q. Nash still lead Them to the 4th best record in the NBA, they still win the Pacific division, without Steve Nash couldn't beat a high school team! Lebron and Kobe have more talent but Steve Nash is the Phoenix Suns!

This begs the question: What does MVP mean?
We all know it stands for Most Valuable Player, but who is the award supposed to be given to?
Is it to the best player? The player most valuable to their team? The player most valuable to the league?
If it goes to the player most valuable to the team, then Steve Nash deserved it. The Suns had to play without their best interior presence (Amare) all year, and they still finished with the 3rd best record in the Western Conference. Whenever the Suns play without Nash, they are a team in disarray. They are not even CLOSE to being competitive without him.
If it goes to the best player, then Kobe Bryant deserved it. Dropping 81 points against any team is a feat. He played like a man on a mission last season. Unfortunately, he decided to prove a point during the playoffs and it cost the Lakers game 7 of the first round.
If it goes to the player most valuable to the league, then it's a tie between LeBron James and Dwayne Wade. Both players attracted attention from waning NBA fans as two young, likeable stars on the rise.

Steve Nash- First, because he was. Second, have you seen the group of guys that he took to the conference finals? Other than Marion, Boris Diaw (a guy that got no playing time for Atlanta), Tim Thomas (a guy asked not to show up in Chicago), Raja Bell (a "who's that" guy, coming into this year), James Jones, Kurt Thomas, etc etc. And those were the good guys. I love Lebron, Dwade, Kobe. They are the 3 best players. But Nash was the most valuable.
