Kennywood
4800 Kennywood Boulevard
West Mifflin, PA 15122
412-461-0500

Kennywood is located on Rt. 837 in West Mifflin, PA just minutes from (about 12 miles southeast of) the downtown Pittsburgh area. Take your most convenient route to Interstate 376 (which runs from downtown Pittsburgh to Monroeville, PA at exit 57 of the PA Turnpike) and then take the Swissvale Exit (No. 7). From this exit, follow the Kennywood arrows south on Braddock Avenue until you cross the Monongahela river and turn left at the far end of the bridge (you will now be on Rt. 837). Kennywood will be 1.5 miles ahead with the parking lot on your right.

This is a local amusement park that has been in operation for MANY years. One of the USA oldest parks. Lots of fun, safe and a few rides that are unique to the area. It is not in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. It is right outside the town going east. My daughter went to college downtown and we always visited Kennywood whenever we could. Just do a google search (or a yahoo for that matters!) and find Kennywood Park using Pittsburgh as the address. The directions should be there although I must say it is not too easy to find. Kennywood is like in its own neighborhood and it does not stay open past Labor Day if I remember correctly. Weird hours too. Doesnt always open daily or at the time posted. Check it out - It should have its own website. Do go if you can!!!! Its much better than all the rest.

Hey Kennywood is not stupid. It is one of the oldest amusement parks in the nation. It has vintage rides as well as modern rides. Three wooden roller coasters and a few steel modern coasters as well as many other things for a family to do. To answer your question it is located about 12 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, in a suburb known as West Mifflin, PA I recommend it to anyone who loves amusement parks, it has alot of nostalgia...

Kennywood is an amusement park near Duquesne, PA. We used to have the McKeesport HS class picnics there.

it was a trolley park which means in the 1910-1920 it was park at the end of a trolley track owned by the trolley company so the
trams would be used on the weekend, also there is a sign in front of the thunder bolt saying that according to the smithsonian institution it was the best coaster in north america!
