Word of mouth...when you see people let them know you are free to babysit. Also post flyers in the grocery store or whatever...it's a great way for you to make money. Good luck.

Normally, you should not expect your parents to pay you for helping around the house. That is something you should be doing anyway. However, if they are already paying someone, like a lawn guy, then why don't you compete for his job? Offer to do it for less. Of course, you will have to do a good job and not complain about it.
Jobs you can do for neighbors: Mowing lawns, walking pets, washing cars, and babysitting (if you are a responsible kid).
You may find it difficult to get a job at 13 because most jobs require you have skills. It does not hurt to ask. Try jobs that do not require a college education, such as fast food, grocery stores, shops, etc.
One way to build your skills is through volunteering. You will not get paid but you will learn valuable skills that will help you get a job someday. Maybe your parents will agree to compensate you for volunteering. They can consider it a donation to a good cause.
A great site is http://www.volunteermatch.org/
If you are adventurous, you can try running your own internet business by buying things at garage sales and selling them online at http://www.ebay.com . Research what things are selling for on ebay before purchasing. (Also, avoid buying stuff on ebay or you will spend more than you make.) I suggest you specialize in a few items: specific toys, books, etc. You are going to become an expect so pick a category that you really enjoy. (When you see a bargain you will know it!) Be certain to check the website daily to make certain your customers are happy. To make a profit you will need to calculate the costs: ebay fees, paypal fees, packaging materials, and postage.
Good luck!

Call up people you know with kids and ask them if they need a babysitter. If they do, then maybe they will let you. Technically, they are not going to hire you, babysitting is quite the under the table job. Also, another good job for people your age could be mowing lawns, raking leaves(fall is coming up) and shoveling snow in the winter. Another good one is a paper route, check out your options, they are limited but there are options! I hope this helps!

I agree with making it known to other parents that you are available for babysitting. You could indeed make fliers to put up in local convienience stores and such.
I would also recommend taking a babysitting course. They teach you what to do and what not to do in emergencies, how to handle rowdy children, feeding, etc. It would also look good to the parents who need a babysitter. Usually cities or local groups such as YMCA and 4-H hold these classes. Ask your parents to find out for you, or ask a school teacher.

Make some fliers, make sure you tell them how much an hour you will charge and how late you can babysit. Also, if you know CPR or anything similar.
Let your mom know you are interested in babysitting and she can possibly help also. I know that is how I found my babysitter, a friend at work told her daughter was interested in babysitting.

You should take a Babysitting class through your local community center. It will teach you how to handle different situations that may arise in addition to basic first aid. It will look really good when you advertise your babysitting services and let people know you're serious. Parents will know they're leaving their kids in good hands.

Put an ad in the newspaper. Or when you see your neighbors say something like, "if you ever need a babysitter, let me know." Good babysitters are hard to find! Be sure not to charge them too much, they won't use you again. When you do sit for them, make sure they come home to a clean house. The kids should be clean too, don't just sit in front of the tv. Good luck!

The list of the books of the Bible were first officially put together at the Council of Hippo in the year 393 AD. They were then reaffirmed in the Council of Carthage in 397 and again by Pope Innocent I in 405. In 1546 the Council of Trent solemnly defined and declared these books to be correct. "Although only [the Council of] Trent used the words "canon" and canonical", its list was identical with every list that the Church had provided since the late A. D. 300's." This is the same Church that Christ promised to build on St. Peter in Matthew 16:18 - it is the Catholic Church (see "Who Built Your Church"). The Catholic Church existed for many years before the Bible was ever put together. It was the Catholic Church who made the Bible, she selected books of the New Testament, and she preserved it. She handed it down through the years. That is historical fact! The Bible as it stands today: we find it is composed of 73 separate books, 46 in the Old Testament, and 27 in the New Testament. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew and the New Testament was, for the most part, with the exception of Matthew, originally written in Greek, Matthew was originally written in Aramaic then translated to Greek. After the "Dispersion of the Jews", when the Jews were scattered throughout the civilized world, many of the younger Jews ceased to be familiar with Hebrew, rather they spoke the Greek language. The language of trade and commerce. The Jewish authorities decided to make a Greek translation of their Scriptures. Which would be our Old Testament. Hence arose that translation of the Hebrew Old Testament into Greek known as the Septuagint. This word in Latin means 70 and is so named because [it is the work of 70 translators], who performed their task at Alexandria. Begun about 280 or 250 years before Christ. It was the version used by Our Lord, His Apostles, and thereby the early Christians. "For the Old Testament, Protestants follow the Jewish Canon; they have only the Old Testament books that are in the Hebrew Bible. Catholics have, in addition, seven "deuterocanonical" books of the Old Testament, which are also in the Greek Bible (the Septuagint). When the early Church was gathering Scriptures for the "canon" or "list of books" for the Bible, they commonly used books that are now not in the Scriptures used by the Jews. One reason for this is that the Jews wanted Christianity to disappear, we were unwanted sons & daughters. Remember the Pharisees and the Sadducees that had a hand in killing Jesus were still on the loose! So, at the Council of Jamnia in 95 AD the Jews "ratified" their "canon" of Scripture. They purposely left out some books that were in use at the time by the early Church, they accomplished this by choosing the Hebrew version over the Greek version (Septuagint). Along comes Martin Luther approximately 1500 years later and he does the same thing that they did choosing the Hebrew version over the Greek version used by Christ and the early Church!
