Sammy is a little nervous about the steroid situation and has dropped out of sight. Doubt that he'll be back.

What Happened To Sammy Sosa

Yes, Sammy Sosa retired after the 2005 season, which he spent with the Baltimore Orioles. Sosa has stated a few times in 2006 that he would make a comeback if he was made the right offer, but so far, no team is willing to take the enormous salary he will undoubtly want. If he still was able to hit .280, hit 35 home runs, and drive in 100, it might be worth it to sign him to a $10 million dollar contract, even if it's only for one year, but Sosa's average was in the .230s his last active season, and his home run numbers are way down, and when Sosa doesn't hit home runs, his RBI numbers will go down as well.

Yes, Sammy Sosa did retire. He was obviously feeling stress because his previous season had been below par with his other ones, so he decided to take what he had and leave the grand old game.

it truly is the perfect professional be conscious that I surely have heard from each of their publicist's is that neither has "formally" declared retirement. And so a techniques because the suspension is going, you have to be on a tweenty-5 guy roster to serve any suspension, which neither of them are. The very last about Sosa that I heard is that he's contained in the Dominican Republic tending to his employer," The Sammy Sosa putting out position," which tries to make faculties and hospitals accessable for all there. And for Palmiero, he has no longer denied a "Comeback," of kinds, yet what crew could want to have him on their roster and performance to be down one guy for fifty video games? NONE !!!

A few days ago the Cubs announcers were talking about Sammy and saying that he's thinking about making a comeback. They said he's keeping himself in shape and that he looks good. Time will tell...

He embarassed himself out of baseball. He did not leave Baltimore on good terms. He only hit 3 HRs last year in a park like Camden Yards...steroid withdrawal maybe?
