I love band, and I am proud to be a band nerd! Oh, when I say band I am refering to high school marching band. I think they make fun of band nerds is because they are jealous because they don't have enough talent to play an instrument, read music, and march at the same (memorize the music that you march to) I think band rocks! What do you think?

Yeah the stereotype of the typical band nerd is a geek with an instrument, but actually many people love when the band plays and respect its members (at my high school anyway). After a performance many people come up to us and are like "Wow you guys are amazing!" and stuff like that
Indeed, band is awesome :)

People make fun of band memebers just because they've seen it done it movies or heard other people do it. There's nothing dorky about playing an instrument and entertaining people. I think you are right in that a lot of people make those jokes because they are jealous, or they don't have anything better to do. I was in band-concert, symphonic, and marching!-when I was in high school, and now that I've been out of it for a couple of years, I realize how much FUN it really is! Enjoy it while you can and even consider doing it in college!

u are awsome!!!!!!!!!! Anything that happens in highschool does not matter....except your edication. In 10 years those people that made fun of you will live in traliers and only eat canned peas because their dirt poor from not being good at anything but making fun of people. Trust me I know. I was a geek and I Own a 3 Bed Room house, have a fabulious family(hubby&baby zack) and I don't have to work because my hubby makes 125,000 a year Ohh he was in martching band too and he writes sheet music now...did i mention i am 24 and he is 23.

I don't know why,,,, but i know it is a wonderful thing to be able to play an instrument and to be a part of something like the band....be proud...Yes this is truly a gift and yes they are jeolous and kiddish.

I don't know what you are talking about. At my HS, the band members and the jocks were JUST AS POPULAR! Maybe it's because they were ranked as one of the best in the COUNTRY!!!
