I am thin and somewhat 'in shape' but I have loose skin and deformed belly button because of a huge weight gain in pregnancy. My body would be almost perfect with a tummy tuck, although I will have a big scar. I am worried about the scarring, is it not worth it to go into surgery? My extra pound of loose skin on my stomache is really bothersome, not just the sight of it, but is irritating and gets in the way of my cloths or hangs over like a skin curtain.
Does anyone know how you can donate skin to charity?

I have the same thing, due to pregnancy and a C-section. I also have considered a tummy tuck. However, you did not mention your age, and how long it's been since you gave birth. It takes at least 9 months to really get back your body, and if you are young....under 30, you need to give your body time to recover. If you have tried to exercise and have lost a lot of weight and that skin still goes no where, and you've given it lots of time, then maybe you are in the same predicament as me. I hear they are very expensive and quite painful to recover from, too. Maybe you can deal with that. I wish you the best...I hope you can make a good decision with that. As far as charity....umm..I think the hospitals deal with that tissue in whatever way they want.

Tummy tuck is not a minor procedure. Will require general anesthesia, and, as you said, leaves a big scar. Don't want to scare you, but you should be aware of risks.

FIRST AND FOREMOST, ONLY YOU KNOW WHAT OR HOW IT MAKES YOU FEEL. SECONDLY,, DON'T ALLOW OTHER PEOPLES OPINIONS ABOUT YOUR TUMMY SWAY YOU INTO DOING SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH. THIRD,HAVE YOU TRIED WEARING GIRDLES? THAT'S LIKE A FOREIGN LANGUAGE TO SOME TODAY. EVERY STYLE OF CLOTHING IS NOT FOR EVERYBODY. IT'S UP TO YOU WHAT YOU DECIDE SO, PRAY ABOUT IT AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE YOUR ANSWER W/ A LITTLE PATIENCE AND/OR SELF IMPROVEMENT MOTIVATORS!

AS FAR AS THE SKIN THINGY! AHHHH, PLEASE CONSULT WITH A PHYSICIAN OR OTHER ANATOMY EXPERTS. IT'S NICE TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT YOURSELF ALL WHILE THINKING OF OTHERS!

Don't feel like you have to donate something to justify something so vein. Geesh, if this is what you need to feel and look good, then do it.

As far as scars go, have you not watched these medical shows lately...everything is done so nicely these days...it's all lazers and no stiches.....go, get your body back.
