don't get me wrong, coldplay is a great band, but every single one of their songs are depressing.

I don't think their songs are depressing at all. I think they're very insightful and perceptive. Perhaps they are mistaken for being depressing because they only sing ballads, but I think the slow pace adds to the beauty their songs tend to shed.

Not me I love Coldplay. Speed of Sound isn't depressing..it's just more instrumental than the other songs you hear. Clocks isn't either..The Scientist. I for one, don't listen to those songs as a sign of depressment.
