Was the 327 v8 ever an option in a '69 Chevy truck?

it's a one ton, 4 speed, all i know is the engine is a small block. i was looking on a website and it said the 327 was available for trucks. is this true? what engines could you get in a chevy truck that year?

1969 saw a new V8 engine: a 255 hp 350 in³ (5.7 L).

The 1969 pickups had a redesigned grille featuring a wide, horizontal aluminum grille bar with the Chevrolet name prominently displayed. The only new pickup model was the one-ton Fleetside. It featured a 133 inch wheelbase chassis and a nine foot box (104 inches inside length). Fleetside pickups continued to offer either steel or wood floors. The engine
line was revised by dropping the 327 V8 and replacing it with Chevrolet's beloved 350.

Production: 1967–1972
Engine: 283 in³ (4.6 L) Small-block V8
307 in³ (5.0 L) Small-block V8
350 in³ (5.7 L) Small-block V8
396 in³ (6.5 L) Big-block V8

In 1968, the 283 in³ (4.6 L) V8 was replaced with a 307 in³ (5.0 L) and a 310 hp 396 in³ (6.5 L) V8 was offered for the first time.

I would think the 327 was put in some trucks in 69. I would think its a 305/307, or a 350 which looks just like a 327. In the V-8 sector was the 305/307, 350, 396, 427, and 454. Just look on the pad on the passenger side front of the engine, just below the head and you will find a flat place that has some numbers and letters stamped into the block. These will tell you what the engine code is. You can use this code to find out what is in the monster. The only small blocks that were put into trucks that I know of was the 305, 307, and the 350. The 327 was available for that year. Most industrial trucks had either the 250 ci straight six or the 283 V8. With the one ton, four speed you probably have the 283 ci. Which will look almost identical to the 327. Do you have a triangle shaped stamp on the front of each head or two rounded humps? Triangle=283. Double rounded humps=327.

I'd say that it's most likely a 350. I thought too that 68 was the last year for the 327. It's not unlikely that someone stuck a 327 in the truck later though, if the original engine wore out.

And for the record, for pete's sake, compression has nothing to do with displacement!!!!!! Also, the current 5.3 engine works out to closer to 325 cubic inches, and shares nothing with the old small block.

I think the 350 V8 option was used for the '69 Chevy truck instead of the 327 V8 but I'm not very certain.

327 was the displacement for a 350 before the compression was lowered. It is also the CID (cubic inch displacement for the current 5.3 liter V8) Sounds right for a '69. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

If I remember correctly, the 283 was gone by 1968 and was replaced by the 307. I think 1968 was the last year for the 327 also. The 350 was introduced in 1969 & that is probably what your one ton has in it.
