Is this your 1st baby? Are your feet swelling more than "usual"? The reason I am asking is that while I was pregnant with my first child, I had pre-eclampsia. It is when you get high blood pressure do to being pregnant. You should probably say something to your dr. because if left "untreated" per say, it could be dangerous to you and/or the baby. I ended up being on bed-rest for a couple of months.

That is definitely something you need to call your doctor about.
I wouldn't stress, but I would see the doctor soon. Have you checked your blood pressure? Pulse rate? When you are pregnant you will have all kinds of situations about your health where you wonder if you should call the doctor or not. If you find yourself wondering then call. The doctor will not mind and you will get some peace of mind. You and your baby are very important.

I think that the heart is pumping a little harder and faster to feed your body and the baby. But there can be some problem to like high blood presure that you might want to bring up to you doctor.

I am 7 months pregnant. I have had the same feeling at times. I notice it when I am lying on my back, so I have to turn on my side, or if my shower gets a little too steamy, or if I am trying to do too much. It's best to mention anything to the dr. He/she will be able to let you know if it is normal for you, or find out what is causing it.

Your organs all double in size when you are pregnant to accomadate your increased blood volume. Have your blood pressure checked. As with the other poster, I too had preclampsia and had heavy heart pounding.

It is mst likely a heart palpatation. When you are pregnant your blood volume increases and your heart has to work over time to keep up with the work load...as do the kidneys.

yes some women have extra beats or increased heart rate with pregnancy, however, you need to mention this to your ob-gyn and note if you get short of breath, dizzy,or light headed.Pregnant women have an increased volume of blood and this puts some stress on the heart.

I had the same symptoms during pregnancy. Mine turned out to be hyperthyroidism. If hyperthyroidism runs in your family you may want to ask to have your levels tested. It can be dangerous if left untreated but is pretty easy to manage with medication.
Best of luck!
