This would be a difficult thing to do. Although they can regulate your periods, they make it so you do not ovulate. This would make it impossible to get pregnant. If you are trying to conceive and have irregular periods, doctors will generally prescribe Clomid.

Taking birth control pills to get pregnant is defeating the purpose. Birth control pills contol ovulation and therefore will not allow you to get pregnant. The few women who do get pregnant on the pill in most cases did not take the pills regularly or missed a pill.

Birth Control will help you get your period to normal (i.e. the pill, vaginal ring, patch).... It also makes ovulation dormant, so you won't get pregnant if you're on it and use it correctly. I had a crazy cycle and it turned out to be a Prolactinoma (Pituitary tumor). Did you rule out other posible reasons why your periods are irregular?
Good luck

It seems I remember something about when you first get off the pill you are extra fertile. But that was years ago when I heard or read it . I am not sure which.

I had one girl to play the I'm on the pill game on me. She had an implant and made sure I knew it was there and then had it removed and did not tell me. Pretty low but it got her preg. really quick.

It defeats the purpose if you wanna get pregnant. Birth control stops the release of eggs from the fallipon tube. Get off the pill and try and ovulation kit. The longer your on it, the harder it will for you to get pregnant.

you take birth control to regulate your period and stop you from getting pregnant. You take clomid to regulate your periods and helps you to ovulate on time so you can become pregnant.

Birth control pills are just that - they stop you from getting pregnant. Try talking to your obgyn, she can suggest other medications/methods for you. I did get pregnant using birth control pills (it was a mistake) so I'm not saying it's impossible, but it will lower your probability of pregnancy.

i was just about to try the same thing when i found out i was pregnant. I tried for 3 years and i think it is worth a try. I also tried clomid and puregon (fertility drugs) but they didnt work.

I will try it second time around if i continue to have prob after first child.

good luck.
