Before you do anything At Least Talk To a Patent Attny.
Most can accept your written details, Drawings and if you have a working model then pictures of it and from that they can file a preliminary Patent Pending. Some will do it for a retainer of less than $2000.
Once you have that then you have something that is Yours. A Commodity that might even be Saleable..

Good Luck And God Bless

You didnt confirm your email.Anyways here is what I had to say.A sketch and how it’s supposed to work. I can probably draw something in 2d fairly quick. Then send it to you as a PDF file. It will give you something to sell or push to the right people or maybe get a patent. It pretty much depends on how involved it is. To actually do a design, it has to be drawn to scale and all parts looked up and itemized. Right now I am laid off and a full time student. I have 2 weeks before the next session starts. I could use the practice. If your idea is good I will put the time in to design for you to present. Just kick me a few bucks if you ever make any money. As a fabricator I usually only get a sketch and how it is supposed to work. I am not an Engineer so any complicated electrical I may have to pass on. But I do however do basic electrical. Right now I am working on my house but I have a couple of hours at night I play on the computer. I don’t know about legal aspects, all I can say is I wont screw you. But you should save any correspondence with anybody you deal with just in case you find someone who tries. Let me know. (hey, you cant get anymore public than this hah hah)

you need to find someone to be an investor in the item. someone you trust who has money. BEFORE telling him the secret go to a lawyers office to draw paperwork saying what he's investing, what the return is, and that he cant steal the idea
