Maddux is the kind of pitcher who won't overpower you, he has to outthink you. He's a smart guy, and he's capable of doing it on a regular basis. He has to have his pitches working for him, which doesn't happen every day, but it's a mental game for him, so I'd have to say that when he's in a better situation, he's going to do better.

Not really, Maddux has been a great pitcher throughout his career, but you have to wonder if that's coming to an end, and he should just hang it up after a great career. He had a great start absolutely, but in the late picture, you can see a decline. Just give it up and take the rightful spot in the Hall of Fame for being one of the greatest pitchers of all-time, especially while he was on the Braves, leading them to countless Championships.

I bet Maddux's ERA with the Dodgers at the end of the year is over 4.50. The six inning no-hitter was a fluke.

I don't think so. I think he really wanted to prove himself after being traded and I hope the rest of his year goes well. I don't think he wanted to leave Chicago this time or even the time he signed with the Braves.

He didn't NEED it, but he wanted to be traded closer to home (Las Vegas). He could've done that even with the Cubs, but getting out of that losing atmosphere couldn't have hurt.
