It depends on what you are selling. I have a lot of good luck with antique tractors at antique tractor sites.
Search for forums about the items you are selling and ask for places to list things for sale. Especially if you can find locally specific places. The closer the buyer is to you, the more reasonable they will be on the price if they can avoid shipping costs.
But then, you might have to MEET them (heaven forbid).

I have sold on Ebay,Half.com, IOffer.com, Overstock.com, Bidville.com, Yahoo auctions etc....none have the traffic that Ebay has.. Craigs list is ok...listed several cars..none sold...answered a lot of questions that could have been avoided had the potential customer read the listing throughly....now I have my own website.
