These doctors have given me the WRONG antibiotic already once, bacteria (E. coli) was resistant to it. Now, I am on Keflex. I WORLDS feel better, but it's only the first day. How many days until full recovery from this crap? I have never had this mess before but once and I was a kid, and I really don't recall any details. Doctor gave me a whole weeks worth of this new medicine, so I know I have to finish it all. But, just curious to what others experiences with this UTI business has been. Please help a worried girl!! Urine is clear now, and they said I only had 3 white blood cells in my urine culture...what the heck does that mean? Will I be sick from two different antibiotcs? Will I die or something? I'm freaking out because I never get sick, and here I am, with this!!! I'd rather been shot!!! (not lethally, of course)

Keep taking what the dr gave you and you'll be OK within the 10 day run of antibiotics. But be sure to take them all, even though you'll be feeling better before they're all gone.

Uti's usually clear up within a couple of days of taking the antibiotic but you still need to finish the meds. The only affects of the antibiotics I can think of would be sensitivity to the sun and possibly a yeast infection. My daughter is on meds to prevent utis because she has a reflux where the pee tries to go up towards the kidney. She's been on the meds for a year and other then the sun thing she is fine.

Stop freaking out. You will feel completely better before you finish the medicine. You must of had it really bad because normally UTI are only treated for 3 days. You may be sensitive to the antibiotics, but it will disappear when you stop the meds. Feel better soon.

Depends, have all you been doing is drinking water? It could be around for quite a while then. Cranberry juice helps, but if you really want to get rid of it pronto, you should get some cranberry pills, as they are more concentrated than the juice. You could also go to a doctor and get some antibiotics, but that's up to you.
