The only person you can push for a promotion is yourself. If you want a promotion, do your personal best job, be open to feedback, articulate your goals and be open to advise on how to get there.
If your boss does not give you a promotion, but you have done the above, it is simply a matter of time before you have earned it and the universe at this job or another will reward you handsomely.
