I'd say within the same relationship, probably yes though not definitely. Not only does the individual have to change, the partner and environment also will need to change for the person not to repeat. There must be something that caused the cheating and the cause must be eliminated. It could be your friend is too laid back or too jealous, it could be he is in a bad circle of friends, it could be the woman he went for was the one that was a degree away from his ability to resist temptation...

You always hear the saying."Once a cheater, always a cheater". Well hun it is simply not true..I have known people to cheat on their spouse only to really regret what they have done and now to this day they are still happily married..We must forgive someone when they error against us but have faith that maybe he did see the errors of his way..If he is true to her about being sorry then he will never cheat on her again...At the same time if for any reasons he does it again then she needs to be strong enough to walk away and find someone who will love her to never cheat on her...God bless

He might. Because if he cheats once, then he will do it again. Because he wants something better than his other woman. But is he cheats and is still with your best friend, then he can't really chose of which girl is better.

I'd say he probably will - so goes the saying "Once a cheater, always a cheater". Which I think in most cases are true...because maybe they get addicted to it, or maybe they can't resist tempation. I think in some cases, it's not true...because maybe they hated it, or felt awful, and never wanted to feel that way again. However, if he cheats on her this time - well, she knew it could happen again, so it's sort of the "Fool on you if you trick me once, Fool on me if you trick me twice" type of situation. Take Care.

Yep more then likely, theres the rare occasion where they learn from their lesson but unless they had to pay the price, and hit rock bottom before realizing what they almost lost, they will more then likely do it again thinking well she forgave me once she'll forgive me again, and he'll probably think as long as he doesnt make the same mistakes twices as far as how he got caught that he'll actually get away with it ..

Probably. There's always a chance he'll be faithful from now on, but it's doubtful. I've never (and I mean NEVER) known a person who cheated once that never did it again. Sorry for your friend. I hope things work out for her one way or another.

Honestly that is up to him. Yes, if you do something often enough it becomes a hard habit to break. If he has done this once I would not term it a habit.

If this was the second or third time then I'd have to say she should either accept it is going to happen again, get him serious therapy, or leave him.

People usually cheat again but once in awhile they don't so I guess it depends on if he just had a lapse in judgment or he really is a scumbag.
