There are always problems but overall I am pretty happy living here. The high price of gas is maybe pushing us towards developing alternative fuels. President Bush is awful but hey I voted for Gore and Kerry and all I can say is I told ya so. Luckily he is at least gone in 2008.

I can pretty much do what I want and how my life turns out is more up to me than in most other countries and there are still lots of opportunities here. Don't get me wrong it's imperfect and Canada and other countries are great too but...

We gotta keep trying to improve and realize what we do have at the same time.

Yes, I like...LOVE, living here.
Gas is cheap here compared to most other countries. Our economy is doing great.
We have a President and a military that I am very proud to claim as mine.
We have a great country, one of a kind. A successful experiment put in place by people who had no way of for-seeing some of the issues that would arise.

I don't like that we are so self-centered that abortion has become a form of birth-control. I don't like that we don't have stricter regulations on gas mileage and SUV sales. I don't like that so many people want to come here illegally or overstay their visas.

But I do LOVE living in this country. Yes, I do.

Reading some of these responses.... makes me sad. Of course I enjoy living here. Go live in a 3rd world country or even some of the struggling democracies in Central or South America and then tell me you don't like living here.

I like it here. The cost of gas is just the worlds way of telling us to be smarter. One day, we won't have any left... so now's a great time to look for alternatives. Or move to Iraq.

dont complain about gas. its like $6.50 Us Dollars in mexico for 1 gallon.

but looking at the other places in the world, (i can deal with George Bush for another 2 years. just imagine how bad things would be if Kerry was elected? Bush was the least of 2 evils) i think ill stay here...at least until they make christianity the US religion. then im packing my bags and moving to Canada.

but i totally agree with Steve R. my friends dad once said: in this country you can do anything with ambition, time, and money.

You had better believe I am. You see, I've actually been around this world. Lived lots of different places. I was always glad to be home. We enjoy freedoms the rest of the world can not even imagine. Gas is still cheaper than a gallon of milk. Try living abroad for a while....you'll miss home too.

With the sweet basil growing in my garden, the rain pouring down on a sunny day, the taste of Trix with milk on it, the sweet faces of my students, cool AC on a hot day, a late night of coffee and paper grading at Denny's, laughter with friends and family, the sound of cicadas during the hottest part of Texas summer, South Padre and Port Aransas, Nome, Alaska in the summer with the springy tundra and wild musk oxen, Skippy peanut butter with marshmallow creme, I could go on and on and on.

Yeah, I love living here.

An old saying: Two men sat in jail. One looked up and saw the bars, the other looked up and saw the stars.

I think the United States is tthe best place to live bar none. No country is perfect...but at least here...if you don't like it...you can say so. If you don't like the President...Vote.

If you don't like living here....MOVE

I love this country so much and it makes me sad watching how we keep losing our values. 1984 seems to be coming on the horizon. I fear the kids will be growing up in a facist state. They are being trained for it now.
