Pizza Hut and KFC among others are owner by "Yum! Brands". The others brnads under "Yum! Brands" are: A&W, Long John Silver’s, Taco Bell, 1962
http://www.yum.com/faqs.asp
"Yum! Brands" was knows as Tricon earlier.
These were spun off from Pepsico; that would explain why these chains serve Pepsi/7up... rather than Coke/Sprite...
An interesting article on this quiet giant:
http://www.economist.com/business/displayStory.cfm?story_id=4316138
and I simply love the ending of this article:
"you will never go bust by under-estimating the public taste. But you have to do it cheaply, efficiently and on a very large scale".
If you were planning to buy shares in this bear in mind that as the 'Western World' becomes more conscious of diet and so on, it will have to depend on now developing markets, before people there also decide to be more conscious of what they eat.
But note that most of it's growth comes from China where it seems to have a better market share than McDonalds. So that's a big plus point.
Personally I wouldn't buy shares in fast food, I think health and supplements are a faster growing industry in the 'Western' world and a better bet for the medium run.
After all the growth of the now developing markets depends to a large extent on how much market access the 'Western World' allows these nations; if the Chinese cannot export their products, how will they pay their workers so they can eat at KFC? The income gap in Chine requires exports for growth.

Yum! Brands (Yeah, you spell it with the exclamation point) owns Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC, A&W and Long John Silver's.
Yum! was spun off of PepsiCo. and is its own company now.

Don't know, look it up, look up each company and compare the
owners corporate name and CEO etc. Or email their PR guy and ask. He will be listed. Company website not commercial websites.
