I have a sketch from G Tarpey?? does anyone know who he is?/?

You might try Google and Ebay. Ebay has an art section and sometimes I find one of our pieces' artist there. Also be sure the name is exact, then try a variation of the spelling. (in case someone else can't read their artists signature). There are quite a number of sites that carry 'listed' artists. You might try under different headings (portrait, landscape, etc).
