You really won't be able to lose that much pounds quickly anyway so don't worry about loose flabby skin. While you're trying to lose weight the right way (smart dieting, etc.), accompany that with exercise always. You're still young so your skin is pretty elastic. And if you have stretch marks, don't worry. Once you start losing weight and exercise at the same time, your stretch marks will lighten up too. Stay healthy!

Well, my goodness...how much does this 16 yo weigh? That sounds like an awful lot of weight. If it's lost too quickly, yes, you can have loose flabby skin. Either follow a better diet and lose slowly so the skin adapts or if it happens too rapidly, consult a doc about future skin tucks.

She won't have loose and flabby skin if she loses the weight the right way. If you lose a huge amount of weight very quickly, you WILL get the hanging skin, and surgery is the only way to remove it. Don't lose more than 2 lbs a week and you'll be fine. Keep exercising!

Probably not. It has to do with a number of factors, genetics being the top (as in some people get stretch marks, others don't), how fast the weight loss is, and how long you have been overweight.

Slow weight loss, allows the skin to adjust. If for sake of argument one lost 50 pounds and had flabby skin that did not go away for a longer period of time, they do plastic surgery that excises the excess skin. I imagine it is very expensive.

Yes she would have some lose baggy skin, but not excessive amounts as 37 to 50 is not like 100 or something. When she loses most of it, at least 20% of it, that is when you must exercise to tighten the skin. Only walking and exercise will firm up the skin. It will be fine, people lose lots more than that and they firm up. Be positive and realistic and work hard to firm it.

taking diet pills would really shed some pounds, thus, flabby and loose skin would be very visible and not to mention the strech marks brought about by the sudden shrinking. to avoid such horror, make sure to lift some weights and enroll to a gym where you can work out and have those muscles and skin a lot fairier. also to minimize the strech marks use a lotion with cocoa butter and vitamin A. Goodluck on your shrinking galore!

Just use Cocoa butter, and stop trying to lose weight FAST. If you dont want the flabby, extra skin, a good goal is a pound and a half a week, using lots of cocoa butter or Vitamin E.

You will be just fine. Do some resistance (weight training) exercises twice a week. For about 30 minutes each time. Drink lots of water, but not too much. About an ounce for every 2 pounds of body weight is good.

Can you please mention how long of a time frame we are talking here? Did this weight loss happen over a period of 2 weeks?

Or is this for the future?

It will be "loose", but not too bad, and if the weight is lost over a long period of time (as it should be to be done right), then the skin will tighten up as the body loses weight...I think.
