Most of us ended up in hiding or having to learn how to do things in ways that were secretive. We learned that we were victims of our own desires for freedom because we had no idea just how powerful Big Brother & The Man could really be. We experimented on ourselves in ways that are still not understood by our generation or by society. I truly believe the mental health industry had a large impact on supressing the Freedom Movement ov the 60's. We were kids from first generation immigrant families & we were the first generation to finish high school & attend College. We were overeducated to the point of stupidity because we had no real goals other than to get high & be free from the rules & bindings of a capatalist society! Most of us sold out (yuppies) sooner than others & those of us that were left ended up outcasts because we refused to conform to the "norms" of society. Eventually, we grew up, but we still are unsure of our place in society! We didn't want to end up like our parents & most of us ended up having that wish fulfilled by ending up WORSE in a different way!

The only good thing is that parents are now more open about talking with their kids concerning sex. Otherwise, diseases and fried brains were the only accomplishments. Perhaps with so much acid going around it was why there are so many kids these days that don't have a drop of common sense. This is a prime example of the sins of the fathers falling on the sons.

People are less uptight & try to be more open-minded about those who make other life choices, other races & cultural backgrounds. Also, people are less likely to trust what the government tells us & we question wars now. Last but not least, clothing became less restrictive, too! No girdles for women, & no suits & ties for men for nearly every professional type job.

60s peaceful rebelliousness has encouraged participation in today's western politics, art and music - although it does alienate tories (republicans). 21st century western expression has been subdued by world events and the dominance of commercialised art and music industries. But it lives on.
